Cyprus : Indian Community celebrates Monti Feast Cyprus, Sep 23 : Indian Community celebrated Monti Fest, the Feast of Mother Mary at Holy Cross church- Nicosia, Cyprus on Sunday, the 20th Sept, 2009. Rev. Fr Franklin D'Souza, the Regional Youth Director of Karnataka region offered holy mass at 11am and preached a homily on "Honor Your Parents". This was well attended by Konkani speaking people. Fr Franklin and Bro. T. K. George are in Cyprus to visit and conduct retreat for Indian community. After the mass, Fr. blessed the first fruit - paddy. Then the faithful offered flowers to Mother Mary. At 1pm, every one had family meal together. Earlier in the day, Fr Franklin and Bro. T. K. George were welcomed by Rev. Fr. Andrew OFM, priest of Holy Cross Church - Nicosia, Cyprus. Fr Franklin offered mass at 9.30 am. He preached homily on "Finding Jesus during the storm" in which he invited people to be strong on faith and then made a healing prayer. Fr. Franklin and Bro T. K. George are in Cyprus for three weeks to conduct retreat for Indian Community. In the noon, they preached retreat from 2pm to 5pm. Fr Franklin conducted praise and worship and Bro. T. K.George explained his witness to the people. At 4pm, Fr Franklin and Bro.T. K. George conducted healing prayer for the people. Nearly 300 faithful attended and reaped the fruit of the renewal retreat.
