Nov 25- 28, 2010 : Renewal Retreat at St. Philomena's Church(St. Joseph's Cathedral) Mysore Preachers: Fr Franklin D'Souza, Bro. T.K. George and Bro. William (Music) Retreat began at 5 PM on 25th. Rev. Fr Arul Raj, spiritual director of the Mysore Diocesan Catholic Charismatic Services inaugurated the Retreat by lighting the lamp. Fr K. A William welcomed the team. Then first session on Prayer conducted was by Bro. T. K. George, Fr Franklin preached on Faith and conducted healing adoration. 1500 faithful and 200 youth were present. On 26th Fr Franklin and Bro. William started the retreat with praise and worship, then Fr Franklin spoke about Jonah, his call and his mission. He invited people to hide in true Lord and not to hide from the Lord. Bro. T. K. George spoke on Family life, then he conducted adoration together with the team. Special prayers for couples were held. 2000 faithful and 300 youth were present. On 27th 9 AM retreat started with Praise and worship, then Fr Franklin spoke on sin and repentance, Bro. T.K George continued the topic and stressed the need of CONFESSION. After noon 2 PM there were 15 priests who helped the faithful for a good confession. Fr Franklin offered mass at 5PM and preached on Forgiveness brings Healing. He conducted healing session and prayed for the people. 2200 faithful and 300 youth were present. On 28th Bro. T. K. George and Bro.William started the retreat with praising hymns to God. Then Bro. T.K. George preached on Curses and blessings, Fr Franklin preached on Holy Spirit. After the Lunch Bro. T. K. George spoke on Mother Mary and Catholic Church, he cleared the doubts about the questions which denominations attack us. Fr Franklin together with the team conducted the anointing adoration. At 4 PM Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Anthony Vazhapilly, the Bishop of Mysore offered the thanksgiving Eucharist and prayed for the people. In his homily he stressed that this retreat should help us to witness Jesus and lead a good life which is expected by the Lord. 3000 faithful and 500 youth were present. Total attendance of the retreat : Elders : 7400 and young people : 1300 amounting to 8,700. Fr K.A. William thanked the Bishop and the retreat team. |
