January 10, 2021: Most Rev. Francis Serrao Sj, Bishop of Shimoga confirmed 26 children of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur, Chitradurga District Diocese of Shimoga.

Rev. Fr Franklin D'Souza, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Assumption Church Hiriyur welcomed the Bishop. At 10am Bishop examined the children and catechised them together with their parents. 10:30 am was the Holy Eucharist and confirmation. In his homily Bishop stressed on faith and prayer and it's importance in Catholic witnessing in today's context.

After the homily Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza presented the children to the Bishop. Then Bishop confirmed the children.

Fr Nelson D'Souza prepared the children for confirmation. Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza thanked Fr Nelson D'Souza and also thanked Bishop. Whole ceremony was meaningfully led.
