Feast of Our Lady of Velanganni, Grotto celebrated at St. Anthony's Shrine, Basavanapura, Archdiocese of Bangalore

September 16, 2024: Feast of Our Lady of Velanganni, Grotto celebrated at St. Anthony's Shrine, Basavanapura, Archdiocese of Bangalore on September 15th, 2024.

Rev. Fr Franklin D'Souza, Diocesan Youth Director of Diocese of Shimoga was the main celebrant of the feast. Parish Priest Rev. Fr Alphonse Bhaskar welcomed the celebrant and concelebrants as well as the faithful. There were 18 first Holy Communion children. Rev. Fr Anthonappa from the Diocese of Mysore, Rev. Fr Royal, Holy Cross community and Rev. Fr Alphonse Bhaskar were the concelebrants.
Mass began at 9:30am.

In his Sermon Fr Franklin D'Souza spoke on "witnessing Lord Jesus through one's faith and leading a life based on Gospel values". He invited faithful to love the Church and to be united in Lord Jesus.

Every year St. Anthony's Shrine, Basavanapura, Archdiocese of Bangalore celebrates Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary near the Our Lady of Velanganni Grotto. It's the tradition of the Parishioners to honour Blessed Virgin Mary and Worship Triune God.

End of the Holy Eucharist Fr Franklin D'Souza led the blessing and benediction.

Parish Priest Fr Alphonse Bhaskar thanked Fr Franklin D'Souza and everyone.

Meals was served for all.
