September 8, 2021: NATIVITY OF BLESSED MOTHER MARY is a family feast for those who live in Coastal belt Catholics. Nine days Novena is led in every parishes and flowers are offered to Blessed Mother Mary, Mother of Jesus. On the last day festal mass is celebrated at the Parish and all those who bring flowers are given a sugar cane as a token of appreciation and blessing.
It's also celebrated traditionally with the new corn. Faithful bring from their fields vegitables to offer to God as thanksgiving. Priest blesses the new corn. This corn later the head of the family takes and mixes with milk or sweet. After the prayer the milke is distributed to the family members as a sign of unity.
Fr Franklin's family members celebrated the feast at Mycodi house, Mudarangadi, Diocese of Udupi. Fr Franklin's mother Mrs. Lilly D'Souza led the prayer and thanked God for his blessings.
In this feast delicious meal will be prepared only of vegitables.
