Shivamogga, November 23, 2022: Inter Diocesan Christ The King celebration held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga on November 20th Sunday at 5pm.
Diocese of Shimoga, Diocese of Bhadravati (Syro Malabar) and Syro Malankara Church together with its faithful, clergy and religious gathered in the Cathedral. At 4:30pm was the Holy Rosary.
At 5pm His Excellency Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga concelebrated Holy Eucharist together with His Excellency Most Rev. Dr Joseph Arumachadath, Bishop of Diocese of Bhadravati, with large number of Priests, religious as well as faithful offered the festal Mass and prayed for the peace.
Rev. Fr Richard Anil D'Souza, Parish Priest of St. Anthony's Church, Karehally preached a meaningful homily on the meaning of Christ The King.
After the Mass Eucharistic Procession was organised in the streets of Shivamogga. Faithful prayed Rosary, sang the hymns for Christ The King and publicly honoured the Lord Jesus Christ. Benediction was held in the Church.
Due to pandemic covid last three years procession was not held. Mount Carmel Deanery Dean and Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Cathedral Very Rev. Fr Stany D'Souza together with Deanery Priests, Religious and faithful systematically organised the liturgy and procession.
Fr Stany D'Souza thanked on behalf of the Diocese of Shimoga all those who helped selflessly for the success of the Christ The King feast.
