March 28,2021 : Palm Sunday was celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur.

Palm Sunday has special significance as we begin the Holy Week. Jesus takes glorious entry in to Jerusalem. To commemorate that event blessing of the palms takes place out side the Church, then a short procession which leads to the Church.

At 8am Fr Franklin D'Souza blessed the palms and there was a short procession. Then the liturgy inside the church took place.

Assistant Parish Priest Fr Nelson D'Souza led the passion narrative from Mark's Gospel. In his homily Fr Franklin D'Souza said that conviction of one's faith in Jesus is must to experience salvific love of God. He spoke on two things instigation and inspiration. Instead of Jesus people were instigated to ask for the release of Barabbas. Truth is sold for thirty silver coins by Judas. But truth reigned again through suffering and death. He asked faithful to build their faith upon truth through inspiration from the Holy Bible.
