Shivamogga, April 12, 2025: On March 28, 2025, during the solemn occasion of Lent, the Young Catholic Students (YCS) of our parish organized a meaningful Taizé prayer service that drew the faithful into a time of deep reflection and spiritual renewal. The prayer service was held in the parish church and witnessed active participation from parishioners of all age groups.
The church was dimly lit, with candles arranged symbolically, creating a serene and contemplative atmosphere. The service was marked by repetitive chants, scripture readings, silence, and intercessory prayers—hallmarks of the Taizé tradition. The simplicity and meditative nature of the music invited everyone into a quiet encounter with God.
The YCS children and Fr. Vinuth Balu led the entire prayer service with reverence and devotion. Their leadership, from singing chants to reading the Word of God and leading reflections, was truly commendable. The theme focused on repentance, forgiveness, and inner peace, helping the congregation prepare their hearts during this penitential season.
This initiative not only enriched the Lenten journey of the parishioners but also gave the YCS members a valuable opportunity to grow in their faith and leadership. The prayer concluded with a moment of silent adoration, leaving everyone with a sense of peace and spiritual upliftment.
We thank and appreciate the YCS members, their animators, and all those who contributed to the success of this prayer service. May such faith-filled moments continue to strengthen our community in Christ.
