July 1 & 2, 2014; St. Aloysius Degree College organised Spiritual Renewal retreat for Catholic Students. ICYM National Youth Director Fr. Franklin D’Souza preached the retreat together with Mrs. Corrine Rasquinha from the White Doves, Mangalore.
July 1st at 9 o’clock praise and worship was conducted by Ms. Smenita and her team. At 10am Fr. Franklin celebrated inaugural Mass and prayed for the success of the retreat. Fr. Franklin in his homily said that ‘there is a way out from crisis that is Jesus’. After the short break, Mr. Mario Joseph’s testimony was shown. He explained how he found Jesus in his life and how spreads him today. He also stressed in his testimony what is the mission of a Catholic? After the lunch break Healing adoration was conducted by Fr. Franklin. Every youth had a touching experience.
On July 2nd at 9am Praise and worship was done by Mrs. Corrine Rasquinha. At 9.45am Fr. Franklin exposed the Blessed Sacrament and led the youth for Sacrament of reconciliation. At 10am 20 priests helped in confessions. Youth spontaneously repented and decided to give old life and accept new life in Jesus. At 12 pm Mrs. Corrine Rasquinha shared her testimony; she said that when medical science failed Lord Jesus, held my hand. She being a cancer survivor explained how she had experience of job in her life. After the lunch Fr. Franklin led the thanksgiving Holy Mass and asked youth to get empowered by the Holy Spirit and witness Christ fearlessly.
On behalf of the college Ms. Lizane thanked Fr. Franklin, Mrs. Corrine and Ms. Smenita for leading a meaningful retreat.
