December 18, 2022: Our Lady of Assumption Church Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Diocese of Shimoga began its Christmas preparation with a retreat together with Sacrament of reconciliation for the faithful.

Bro. Mahime Raj from Logos Retreat Centre, Bengaluru as well as Karnataka Regional representative of National Service of Communion (NSC) preached the retreat together with Bro. Abhishek who helped in music ministry.

Retreat began on December 17th at 5:45pm with Rosary led by Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza. Then he welcomed the team. At 6:15pm was the praise and worship by Bro. Mahime Raj and Bro. Abhishek. 7pm Bro. Mahime spoke on importance of Christmas in our lives. At 7:45pm he led the healing adoration together with Fr Franklin D'Souza. At 8:30pm Fr Franklin D'Souza celebrated Holy Eucharist. Retreat concluded at 9pm. Blessed bread was distributed to the faithful.

On December 18th retreat began at 7:30am with Rosary led by Mrs. Elcy Vincent. Then praise and worship by Bro. Mahime and Bro. Abhishek till 9am. 9am Bro. Mahime spoke on renewal through reconciliation. From 10:30am to 11:30am confessions were organised. Meantime team led the adoration. At 11:30am healing and anointing session was led. Fr Franklin D'Souza anointed with the oil upon faithful and prayed over them.

At 12pm Fr Franklin D'Souza celebrated Holy Eucharist. At the end of the Holy Mass Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza thanked the retreat team. He honoured them with shawl and garland and with a momento. Retreat concluded at 1pm.

Bread and bananas were distributed to the faithful.
