Shivamogga, December 11, 2024: The Carmel Deanery meeting was respectfully held on December 9th at 6:00 PM in Sacred Heart Cathedral.
At 6:00 PM, Deacon Nishant D'Costa reverently exposed the Blessed Sacrament, and Fr. Franklin D'Souza led a half-hour adoration. The assembled priests offered thanks to the Lord Jesus and prayed for the intentions of the deanery and the diocese.
Fr. Dominic Christuraj, SDB, offered a warm welcome to those gathered. Msgr. Very Rev. Fr. Stany D'Souza, Dean of the Deanery, presided over the meeting. Fr. Paul Anand Prasad, SJ, presented a report summarizing the previous meeting.
The meeting's agenda included the following items:
1. A review of the Christ the King Feast celebration.
2. Scheduling deanery meetings for 2025.
3. Finalizing the Christmas penitential services within the deanery.
4. Updates from various commissions.
5. An exchange of Christmas greetings.
Fr. Franklin D'Souza shared information regarding the conclusion of the Year of Youth on December 14th and 15th and politely requested the deanery's cooperation.
All the priests present joyfully sang Christmas carols and exchanged Christmas wishes. Fr. Jesu R. Nathan graciously cut the Christmas cake. The meeting concluded at 8:00 PM with a shared supper.
