Chitradurga, Hiriyur, June 14, 2024 : Our Lady of Assumption Church Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Diocese of Shimoga Celebrated St. Anthony's feast on June 13th, 2024. At 6:30pm Rev. Fr George K A, Rector & Parish Priest of Our Lady of Health, Minor Basilica, Harihara blessed the St. Anthony's 'Chariot'. Then together with the Rosary faithful took the procession around Mary Road. After the procession people gathered in front of the church for the Novena. Fr Franklin D'Souza, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur led the Novena.

Festal Holy Eucharist began at 7:30pm. Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza Celebrated the Holy Eucharist together with Rev. Fr George K A, Rev. Fr Alvin Stanislaus - Manager and Correspondent of Lourdes Boys School, Davanagere & Assistant Parish Priest Fr PaulCrasta.

Fr Franklin D'Souza in his homily spoke on the call of God to witness the love of Jesus. St. Anthony became a testimony of love of Christ. He loved the Word of God, The Eucharist and also he had great devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. We are called not only to follow miracles but also have faith like him in Lord Jesus Christ. He specially prayed for the faithful gathered.

After the Mass, Outgoing Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza thanked sacristan Mr. Kanikya Raj for his valuable services during the last six years of his ministry at Hiriyur.

Rector Fr George K A thanked Fr Franklin D'Souza for his valuable services to the faithful of Hiriyur.

Then Fr Franklin D'Souza thanked all those who contributed for the success of the feast.

Food was served for everyone.
