August 3rd, 2019; As Diocese of Shimoga taken the theme for the year "Reconciliation". On July 16th during the Mount Carmel Feast at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shimoga, Bishop Francis Serrao Sj blessed the four reconciliation crosses and handed them over to the Deans of Mount Carmel, Vianney, Holy Family and Little Flower Deanery.

Fr. Lancy D'souza Dean of Holy Family deanery received the cross. The first parish to receive the cross in the deanery was St. Anthony's Mission Unit, Hosadurga. Fr. Robert D'Mello mission Director made known his faithful importance of cross journey. On August 3rd he handed over the cross to Fr Franklin D'Souza, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Assumption Church. Fr Franklin D'Souza conscientised the people about the importance of the Cross journey. On Saturday evening after the rosary near the Our Lady of Lourdes grotto he led the Prayer Service together with Fr Nelson Alphonse D'souza and gave blessing. Then in procession cross was taken to the Church. This will journey through all samydayas and two convents. Latter it will be handed over to Infant Jesus Church, Challakere.
