Diocesanal Level

May 7th, 2014; St. Joseph’s Church, Sagar, Shimoga Diocese celebrated annual feast. ICYM National Director from CBCI Delhi, Rev. Fr. Franklin D’Souza offered the festal mass at 9.30am. In his homily he enumerated the life of St. Joseph the foster father of Jesus. He explained how being a ‘just man’ he lived his life. He also asked the parishioners to follow the example of St. Joseph the patron of the parish. He also explained the role of the Holy Family in the salvation history and he compared the role of present families in the mission of the Church. He highlighted three qualities of St. Joseph and Blessed Mary. They are a) Profound obedience to the will of God, b) Total surrender to the will of God, c) Complete trust in the word of God. He said that if we have these qualities we will surely attain the heaven. He invited the faithful to take these examples from their lives and follow Jesus.

Parish Priest Fr. Veenus Praveen Colaso, welcomed and thanked Fr. Franklin. As Fr. Pius Asst. Parish Priest celebrated his ordination anniversary he was felicitated. Fr. Veenus thanked Fr. Santhosh SJ who served the parish for six months and wished him best of luck in his new appointment as St. Aloysius PU College Principal at Harihar.
