Diocesanal Level

May 7th 2014, His Excellency Archbishop Most Rev. Salvatore Pennachhio, Apostolic Nuncio to India consecrated Bishop Elect Msgr. Francis Serrao SJ as the Bishop of Shimoga at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shimoga. Ceremony began at 3pm. His Grace Most Rev. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bangalore and His Excellency Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary were the co- consecrators. 6000 faithful and 236 priests and hundreds of religious sisters witnessed the ceremony and prayed for the new shepherd of Diocese of Shimoga. After the mass a short felicitation function was organised by the Diocese of Shimoga.
