DTS-DEXCO Meeting with New Diocesan Youth Director Rev. Fr. Franklin D'Souza

Shivamogga, July 8, 2024: On July 7, 2024, a significant meeting of the DTS (YCS/YSM) - DEXCO (ICYM) was held at the Yuvamitra, Youth Office in Shimoga, marking the first session with the new Diocesan Youth Director, Rev. Fr. Franklin D'Souza.

The meeting commenced with a heartfelt prayer led by Fr. Franklin D'Souza, setting a reflective and solemn tone for the day's proceedings. Ms. Priya Maria D'Souza, the Diocesan ICYM President, warmly welcomed all attendees.

The agenda of the meeting included the submission and evaluation of reports detailing the programs conducted over the past six months, designated as the "Year of Youth 2024." This segment allowed for a comprehensive review of past activities, highlighting successes and areas for improvement. The meeting also focused on formulating an action plan for the upcoming six months, ensuring continued growth and engagement.

Leaders and participants actively contributed by sharing their ideas and insights, fostering a collaborative environment. Fr. Franklin D'Souza delivered a keynote address, offering valuable guidance and inspiration to the young leaders.

Following the discussions, Fr. Franklin D'Souza celebrated the Holy Eucharist, providing a spiritual upliftment for all present. The session concluded with a communal lunch, enhancing fellowship among the attendees.

Later that day, a brief meeting with the zonal team of the Carmel Deanery took place. Alongside the Diocesan Youth Director, members of the central youth team, and other youth from the Carmel Deanery, Fr. Christuraj, the Deanery Youth Director, also participated. This meeting focused on planning future deanery programs.

Ms. Alvina Dias, the DTS Secretary, expressed gratitude and delivered the vote of thanks, formally closing the day's proceedings.

The meeting was deemed highly productive and enriching, leaving a lasting impact on all the young minds involved.
