July 12, 2024 : Sacred Heart Cathedral, Shivamogga has a unique tradition that the faithful celebrate Mount Carmel feast with devotion and love.

Nine days novena began on July 6th with flag hoisting by Msgr Felix Joseph Noronha, Vicar General of the Diocese of Shimoga.

Fr Franklin D'Souza, Diocesan Youth Director, preached on July 8th and 9th. General theme of the feast is "Pray without ceasing". This theme is divided in to sub themes. Good number of faithful atteend daily service. At the end of the Holy Eucharist Rev. Fr Stany D'Souza, Rector of Sacred Heart Cathedral conducts the Novena of Mount Carmel.

As Fr Franklin D'Souza celebrated his Sacerdotal Silver Jubilee, Rector and Parishioners felicitated Fr Franklin D'Souza at the end of the Holy Eucharist.

Mount Carmel feast will be celebrated on July 16th. Most Rev. Dr Francis Serrao SJ, Bishop of Diocese of Shimoga will celebrate the festal Holy at 9am. Same day evening there will be chariot procession of Mount Carmel by th4 faithful of Sacred Heart Cathedral. All Parishes of Shimoga and Bhadravati area will take part in this event.
