Hiriyur, December 25, 2022: Assumption Youth (ICYM & YCS) of Our Lady of Assumption Church, Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Diocese of Shimoga, organised Christmas Cultural evening (Christmas Kalaa Sanje) at Assumption Church Campus.

Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza inaugurated the Cultural evening at 6pm. ICYM President Stanley Lawrence welcomed the gathering specially Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza, guests; Mrs. Madala Maria, Councillor of the ward, Mr. Sudhakar Jain, Ex Minister as well Ex MLA of Hiriyur.

Mr. Sudhakar Jain shared joy of Christmas by cutting the cake. He also sponsored the cake for the gathering. In his message he said that Assumption Church and School is contributing the selfless service to the society. They are inspired by the Spirit of Jesus; who gave himself for the humanity.

Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza, honoured and thanked Mr. Sudhakar Jain and blessed him.

Parish Priest Fr Franklin D'Souza in his message said that birth of Jesus is a great historical event which none can deny. He said that we should live the Gospel values in our lives I.e, Joy, Peace, love and selfless service. When we do good we need not get frightened. Christmas vanishes the fear and brings courage to do good and to be good.

Nearly twenty programs were there from SCC's, Youth and children. They entertained the gathering with Christmas songs. A large number of people were gathered to witness the program.
