Chittradurga, Hiriyur, February 2, 2023: Management and Staff of Assumption Kannada Primary School Hiriyur, Chitradurga District, Diocese of Shimoga organised Felicitation and Farewell program for the Sr. Alphonse Alwyn on January 31, 2023.

Program began at 11am at Assumption Hall. Manager and Corresspondent Rev. Fr Franklin D'Souza, Assumption English High School HM Rev. Fr Nelson D'Souza, Assumption Kannada High School HM Mr. Henry Crasta, Sr. Martha HM of Assumption English Primary School and Sr. Veronica newly appointed HM of Assumption Kannada Primary School, Hiriyur were present for the program.

Teachers of Assumption Kannada Primary School led the program. Mr. Michael was the Emcee. Mr. Jitendra welcomed the gathering. Mr. Prabhu and Mrs. Veronica shared their thoughts about Sr. Alphonse Alwyn.

From the management side Rev. Fr Franklin D’Souza spoke about the commitment and dedication of Sr. Alwyn. He said that she always served in the school as her own school. She was gentle and serene in her approach, ready to do any service whenever you ask her. She exhibited a great love for the teaching ministry. He also said that she loved the children who were not able to study and concentrate. She showed special attention for the slow learners.

Fr Nelson D'Souza appreciated Sr. Alwyn. She was ever ready to do any work for the school. He appreciated her patience in doing her job as HM. He wished her every success in her future endeavour.

Sr. Alwyn expressed her thoughts and thanked the God and congregation for giving her a chance to serve at the Assumption School. She expressed her gratitude to everyone.

3. Among nine children Four boys and five sisters. Sr. Alwyn is first among the girls. Her brother is a Diocesan Priest of Diocese of Ahemdabad

5. High school education: 8th to 10th at St. Avila convent Mysore
6. Professed as religious on 21st May 1983 St. Anne's Convent, Bangalore
7. TCH at Samira College, Mysore

8. As assistant teacher her services:
a) 29 March 1988: One year of the at Silvepura Bangalore
b) 01 June 1989: Seven years at Infant Jesus School, Mysore
c) 01 June 1996: Three years at St. Peter's NTM School, Doresanipalya, Bangalore
d) 01 June 1999: Eight years in St. Ann's School Gokunte, Mulabagilu, Bangalore
e) 01 June 2007: Six years at St. Ann's School, Palahalli, Mysore
f) 01 June 2013: Assumption Kannada Primary School, Hiriyur, Chitradurga District for ten years.
