From July-24-27, 2014; ICYM – Archdiocese of Delhi under the leadership of Diocesan Youth Director Fr. Chetan Machado and his DEXCO organised a residential leadership training program at St. Mary’s School, Rothak (Haryana). On Saturday ICYM National Director Fr. Franklin D’Souza took a session on ‘servant Leadership’. He said that youth should get transformed first and then they are able to bring transformation. He also said that our role model in servant Leadership is Jesus. John 13 chapter and Maundy Thursday service (Washing of the feet) is the core of our service. He said there are three types of leaders. They are 1. Come and go, 2. Let me do something, 3. Why not I? But he invited youth to take up the leadership inspired by the Word of God. He also explained the qualities of a LEADER. He explained each letter of it. He said Leader should be Loving, Encouraging, Able, Disciplined, Enthusiastic and Reliable. He concluded saying that the growth of ICYM is tremendous in Delhi. He appreciated the hard work of Fr. Chetan Machado and good will of the youth of Archdiocese of Delhi. ICYM is the best platform that trains youth in all spheres of life.
Four members of ICYM National Youth Office accompanied with him. They shared their experience in ICYM as leaders. They are ICYM National President Mr. Neelam Suresh Rao, ICYM National Treasurer Ms. Julia Joseph, National Office Program coordinator Mr. Prashant D’Souza and ICYM web manager Mr. Praveen D’Souza. Their testimony inspired the leaders those who gathered there.
In the morning in first session Delhi Minority Commission member Mr. Abraham M. Pattiyani delivered the Key note address.
ICYM Archdiocesan President Mr. Sijith welcomed and thanked the ICYM National Team. From every parish Executive Committee leaders took part in this program. There were 150 of them.
