Shivamogga, February 2, 2025: The S.C.B. Associates of Mary Immaculate Convent in Shimoga, who established their association on February 20, 2011, renew their commitment annually in February.

In the Jubilee year of 2025, Rev. Fr. Franklin D'Souza, Diocesan Youth Director of Diocese of Shimoga as well as Spiritual Director of Charismatic Movement, graciously agreed to address their gathering in the convent chapel on February 1st, 2025 at 5:30pm.

He inquired which day Jesus most significantly served his people, and an Associate promptly responded, "Maundy Thursday." Father D'Souza encouraged them to embody humility, honesty, generosity, and simplicity in their service to the parish's less fortunate.

He offered a unique and heartfelt prayer with and for them, celebrating the Eucharist during which 18 associates renewed their promises, and one made her initial pledge. Father D'Souza commended the lay associates for their dedication to God's Church, acknowledging their diverse roles as housewives, teachers, lecturers, engineers, and caregivers to their families. Following Mass, everyone gathered in the refectory to celebrate their collective service to God's people.
